Weekend Projects

Man, I got a good amount of work done this weekend! I’m pretty jazzed about it. One of the projects I’m working on is the tablecloths for the party. I’ll show you when they’re all done. I completely finished one, but I still have one more to go. I was laugh/crying about them this weekend realizing that since the party starts at 6 pm, no one will probably even see them since they’re going to be on the tables outside. And it’s pretty much pitch black by 5 pm nowadays. Well, there will be light out there, but not sunlight (obviously). Maybe it’s better, though. In soft light you’ll only see their amazeballsness, not all the mistakes I’m sure I made. At one point I realized that I had sewn two parts of the tablecloth together and had to rip the stitches out. Ahhh. The joy of working with something so large that you eventually just start pushing a ball of fabric around. When I show you the pictures, you’ll have a better idea of what I’m talking about.

The second project is something I decided to try on a lark. I’m going to feature it tomorrow as the tutorial, so you’ll have to wait. By then I’ll know if the blood, sweat and tears I poured into it were all for naught. I’m REALLY hoping that’s not the case, but I’m not holding my breath. It’s pretty involved.

And since I hate to see pictureless posts, I’ll leave you with one that I found pretty funny.

Ted is none too pleased that Ralph has found himself in Ted’s house. But, as my sister pointed out, squatter’s rights…

Ha! I love this stare down between Ralph and Ted. Years ago I made a two story house from cardboard boxes (I saw it on Martha) for Tubbs. He was a bit too big and didn’t go up to the second level very often, but that didn’t stop him from shoehorning himself in there. Anyway, he had the cardboard house AND another empty box to lounge in and if Barbara was in either of them he would leave whatever cardboard contraption he was in to go to bitch slap her out of the other one. Apparently he is the only cat worthy enough to lounge in the finest cardboard in our house. Cats.

HA! Dang! Tubbs really HATES Barbara, doesn’t he. Not a sharer. He’d be one of those people who would shout “IF I CAN’T HAVE YOU, NO ONE CAN!” right before he murdered someone. Oh Tubbs…
