The Neon Museum

This weekend we went to Las Vegas to see this guy:

JT

One Mr. Justin Timberlake! You guys…HE WAS THAT CLOSE TO ME!!! He saw me and just started walking my way. It was all about THIS girl. I ASSUME. Anyway, the concert was awesome and I absolutely loved it. If you’re a big JT fan, it’s the best concert ever. He played for 3 hours. THREE. FULL. HOURS!!!

ANYWAY…while we were there, I wanted to see one other thing - The Neon Museum (aka the neon graveyard). It. Was. AMAZING!! I thought it was going to be MUCH bigger, but it was jammed with a ton of old Vegas signs and the guided tour was very interesting. I thought I’d give you a little sampling of what I took.

Atomic Stars

Club

El Corte

Giant S

In love

R is for Ryan

Path

Motel

Motel 2

Sassy

Sahara

Shoe

Yellow S

It pretty much photographs itself. And this is just a sampling. It was a beautiful day out - perfect for picture-taking. The one drawback was the other tour “guests.” There was a very old man (with the scariest voice ever) with his two old daughters and I was pretty close to punching them. Well, really just the daughters. I was afraid of the old man. They kept oohing and aahing over everything and the conversations with the tour guide went like this:

Crazy Old Bat: That sign’s from the old Fox Motel! That’s where that old actor lived…what’s his name.

Guide: Howard Hughes? No, he lived in the Desert Inn.*

Crazy Old Bat: He lived there for 25 years.

Guide: He actually lived there for 2 years.*

HA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thank you guide with the extremely sunburned nose! Thank you for getting her to shut her trap. Even for just a split second. Later, when we were in front of a chapel sign, he jokingly asked anyone if they were married and/or divorced in Vegas. That same old bat went up to a man who said he was divorced there and said “does it still hurt?” WHAT????????????????????????????? The guy had a hard time not laughing. Especially since he was with his new wife and kids.

There was another rag-tag family who were behaving like 7th grade boys on a school field trip. Even the adult men. It was weird and annoying. BUT IT WAS ALL WORTH IT!!! And if you’re ever in Vegas, I highly recommend it.

*I looked that up to make sure it was correct - #factsonly.
