I know. Don’t Jewish grandmother me into feeling guilty about not posting for an entire week. Actually, week+. I’d like to say that it’s been busy, but it’s really just that nothing has inspired me enough to write about. I have a couple of things in the can, though, so I’ll be back a little more.
A-N-Y-W-A-Y, I actually rounded up a few REALLY good mid-century modern (my fave of course and this is all about me) DIY projects. I want to them all. Duh. I want everything.
Mid-century planter. When I was searching around for planters for my office, I ran across a few that I loved. Especially the bullet ones. GAH! “Y you gotta b so spensive, bullet!” I scream at no one in particular. I revamped my vision board (the nonexistent one) and did something else. But then I stumbled upon this planter and I wanted to start screaming. Again. I mean, it’s perfect. I must have this. Must, must, must. Must, mustier, mustiest. (Side note, if anyone who hasn’t run out and purchased Ryan and I a 4th anniversary present and would like to, I like both the tangerine and turquoise colored bullet planters - the end).
Mid-century highball glasses. You know me. I love a good (or a thousand good) cocktail. This project reminds me of the glass etching I did for the Palm Springs party. But with GOLD LEAF!! How much fancier could you get those pants??!! Not much. This lady would totally own these glasses. Amirite? But I’ve been working on a project at home that I’m embarrassed to show you because it highlights how many glasses we own. I will anyway, but you’re not allowed to laugh.
Mid-century clock. I’m going to start out by saying that it bugs me a little that the 9 and 10 o’clock arm thingies are a little too close to each other. Now that I’ve gotten that out of the way, let me just say…ANOTHER FREAKING CLOCK I WANT TO MAKE! This is the THIRD clock I’ve seen and I only “need” one. BUT, the clock I’m making is in the early stages, so I can still opt for this one. I love the George Nelson clocks, but I’m not paying no $400 for one. (Side note - my favorite George Nelson clock is this one in case of the whole anniversary thing I mentioned earlier). This clock tutorial may be the one to beat at this point.
So…I think my absence over the past week should be forgiven on the stellarness of this post alone. Right?!
