I Guess This is Goodbye

Well, this can’t be too big of a surprise.  I thought I was going to rise like a phoenix, but I’m drying out like a white turd.  Guys, I just can’t write a blog about DIY anymore.  I think I’m DIY’d out.  Not completely.  Just enough to not want to write about it.  I’m going to keep the blog up and running for as long as it’s economically feasible.  And I will still answer comments.  Thousands of people have liked that cat shelf “tutorial,” so I can’t leave them hanging.  But I’m not going to be writing here anymore.

That being said, I started a new, simple blog where I basically will be talking about, well, anything and everything.  If you think my writing is funny, I think you’ll like it.  If you are only here for the DIY and the party ideas, you’ll have to shuffle on off to somewhere else.  The new blog is…I think I nailed it… “Ugh – The Story of My Life” (www.ugh-life.com).  I’m not going to promise to write a lot.  That was another thing that caused me to burn out.  I’ll write as much as, well, as much as I want.

So, this is me signing off.  Second star to the right and straight on till morning.  That’s how you get to Neverland Ranch, right?  Oh man.  I’m kinda going out on a crap joke.  Oh well.

Oh, and as you know I hate posts without pictures, I’ll send you off with this:

Elvis has left the building.

Register my reaction as a several months late “Nooooooo!” Who will be my source of Ice Cube x Eames posters now?

But I checked out your linked post and I’m with you on all points. I mean, if I wasn’t, then everyone would have seen that I actually hung that poster up in the kitchen like two… three… three and a half?… years ago. And also tiled the kitchen, painted it, did a DIY (ugh) counter top. And never mustered the strength to blog about a single step of it. Not even the part where we peeled up the old wallpaper to reveal even older wallpaper that had illustrations of people who looked JUST LIKE Win and Regine from Arcade Fire.

I’ll look forward to snark and musings of the Ugh Life. You know, if you feel like posting some. No pressure.
