Before Ryan and I got married, I never had change. Well, I always had quarters because they are PIRATE’S BOOTY when you need them to do laundry. But I never had the other coins because I rarely had cash on me and purchased everything on my debit card. All that changed after we got married because Ryan often gets paid in cash.
I started a little change jar right away for the non-quarters (I keep the valuable quarters in a gilded chalice). I kept saying that we should take it to a Coinstar or something, but we just kept forgetting. Finally, when I was dusting (yes, I occasionally dust) the other day, I went to pick it up and I couldn’t believe how heavy it was. So when Ryan went to the grocery store, I put it in a Ziploc bag for him to convert.
That is a 2.5 gallon Ziploc bag. I had Ryan hold it so that you could see how heavy it was. He said that his gigantic muscles made it as easy as pie to lift, but he was insistent on pretending (just so that he could flex for the camera).
So guess. Guess how much money was in there? Ryan and I guessed before he left. I guessed $75 and he guessed $45. I insisted on doing a “closest to” instead of a “closest to without going over.” Otherwise, I knew he’d pull a “$1 Bob!!” He can be a total douche. Anyway, guess!!!! GUESS!!!
[Insert Jeopardy music here]
If you guessed $114, you were right. ONE HUNDRED FOURTEEN DOLLARS!!! Amazing. Of course, that went right towards the grocery shopping bill, so…please don’t come rob us. THANKS!! :) :) :)
Oh, and when I asked what I won, he said “candy covered kisses” to which I shouted “SO IT WAS A LOSE-LOSE FOR ME!!!” Wink…

I love cashing in my piggy bank! I did that last year and it paid for my cabinets in my studio. The old pig is getting pretty heavy again. Oh, and I don’t discriminate against Mr Jefferson or his lady friend Ms. Sacagawea!
Sacagawea. LOL. But dang!!! Your cabinets? That’s awesome!
