My friends Jonathan (who I call Johnny and you will remember from this guest post) and Theresa are having a little baby girl. Like any second. (You guys - IS SHE HERE YET???) Her name is Charlotte ELIZABETH, so I’ve just taken to calling her LL - Little Lizzie. I know that they really wanted to name her after me, but they didn’t want everyone to think it was strange to name their baby after a friend so they just made it the ever-important middle name. Wink…
Now, these are not only good friends, but they are the kind of people who love handmade things. You know, some people just don’t get it. You have to pick who you give things you’ve slaved over. Have you ever painstakingly knitted anything for months only to give it to someone who was completely unimpressed. So what if it’s totally wonky and doesn’t fit?? (I’m not a great knitter). I’ll tell you, it brings you to rage. Well it does me. ANYWAY, this couple (and LL) deserved some special stuff. I made an embarrassing amount of things, so I’ll just show you my two favorites:
That rollerskate kills me. I told Theresa that I really didn’t want to give that quilt away after it was finished. If it didn’t have 3 Little Pigs fabric mixed in, I might have. But notice my quilt signature. It’s my normal signature, but we all know it’s also because of my LL. Hey, I embroidered the letter C on her little reversible dress! Give me SOME credit!
I hope to have some of these little dresses up in my Etsy shop soon. They’re just so dang cute that I want to share them. Seriously, I might scale one up to my size. They’re that adorable.

i have to say when we got these in the mail yesterday, it was a total embarrassment of riches. i mean this stuff was AMAZING or as the (retard) kids are calling it today, AMAZBALLS!!
When i saw it all, and it’s a lot, i could genuinely feel the collective groans of 1000 Somali mothers all saying the same thing, “… some american couple just ate 2500 calories (for lunch) AND received a cache of hand made, beautiful items. how is this fair? i hate america. god is dead.” Pretty AMAZBALLS if you ask me.
Ummmm… Best. Comment. Ever.
What up LL? This quilt looks sooooo good! That is why I only make things for myself (mostly).
I seriously might make one for myself in the same pattern. It’s so pretty!!!
