DIY Dare - Paint-by-Number

The first DIY Dare is done! I know that some of you might be all “Really? Paint-by-number?” It’s harder than it looks! Believe me. Hopefully you naysayers will at least get a kick out of the video we made documenting it. If you can’t tell, Ryan found out where the sound effects are…

And, as I keep begging, keep those dares coming! I didn’t think it would happen, but I’m totally enjoying this whole thing. And I’m SUPER impressed with Ryan’s editing skills. Much more than my recording skills. Sorry my face is so close at times and that I’m not wearing make-up in parts. I was keeping it real (and I didn’t feel like showering yet).

Oh, and as promised, here’s the original picture that I sent in. It’s pretty good, right?!

YAYYYY! I have been running the exact same “Oh my god, where is my paint by number? I love this! Oh wait, I hate this!” gamut. I foolishly got a 16×20 kit of peacocks. So many colors! Gahhh. I literally LOL-ed so many times watching this video.

When Ryan showed me the first cut, I about died of laughter. From the sound it makes when I point to the paint-by-number box, straight on through the end. “WHERE’S MY PAINT-BY-NUMBER!” with my eyes bugging out is hilarious. He said I look so ridiculous that he wanted to put it in another 10 times. LOL.

I’m only on 1:26 and I am DYING Laughing. Not at you but at Ryan’s AMAZING sound effects & editing. Hilarious!! He really made it like a horror movie. Which is awesome.
And that’s why I love the close-ups of you so much. It’s very Blair Witch…

Isn’t it HILARIOUS?! Ryan said that’s what he was going for - a horror movie. That’s why he put the whole night-vision thing on me at one point. It made my face look incredibly freckly. Gack. LOL.

The award goes to the remarkable DIYer and her super-duper-talented editing team of one. Freakin’ awesome video! What a team! This is the best paint by numbers video I have ever seen (you really don’t need to take into account the fact that it is the only one I have ever seen). Love it.

Thanks Lily! I had so much fun doing it. Well, not really. But I had a LOT of fun watching Ryan’s edited version. He did such a good job and made it so funny. I can’t wait to do more!

Omg! Your video has me cracking up! I also made some PBN art of my kitties, but I’m cheap and made my own PBN pattern using Picnik (rip). I’m also lazy so I made it super simple with only around 8 colors each. I love them so much that I actually have them hanging up in our house. In a high traffic area too!

Dude! I got the entire idea from your tutorial a while ago!!! I almost feel like I’m talking to a famous person right now since your tutorial is on one of my Pinterest boards. GAH! But I went the lazy (and MUCH more expensive) route and had it made. LOL.

Oh & I’m glad you liked the video! My husband’s editing…priceless. We’ve already got a new one in motion.
