Remember when we made this for the cats (man, look how little Ted was!!!)? There were a few things that started to totally grate on my nerves about it. One of them - the legs. They’re hideous. Also, having the top of the suitcase attached made it a little more in your face. I couldn’t put it in certain places (remember we have a postage stamp-sized apartment) because it was so tall. But I was hesitant to do too much because this is how they sleep:
They are not playing here. They are sleeping. These guys… They like to stretch out and they’re both pretty tall.
But of course, I couldn’t stop myself. I had to revamp it. I gave it new, more modern legs and made a new pillow for it. This time I just made it out of fleece because they are almost always lounging on the Snuggies (yes we have Snuggies. I balked big time, but then touched one and new it was sent directly from heaven). I figured that making it out of a material they already love might give them more incentive to lay on the darn thing. So, here it is.
Ralph will pretty much do anything if I give him enough praise. Ted…not even his catnip red pepper worked. He was all “UH-UH!” This is as close to laying down as I could get.
Anyway, I like it MUCH better. Well, the pillow is a bit wonky and boring, but I’m going to let it go for now. I’ve got other projects, man! I ain’t got time for that!
