Say what you like, but…I told you so. Remember when I received four plants in the mail in lieu of a bouquet of flowers? It was like 6 months ago, so I’ll refresh your memory. Look at those kids - all fresh and new. Now…3 of the 4 have died and this is what I came home to the other day:
This is what happened. It was doing reasonably well when I noticed that some of the leaves were a little yellow. So I looked it up online and “it” said that yellowing leaves might be due to the fact that I’ve been giving it too much water and/or not enough sunshine. SO! I made sure the soil wasn’t too dry and put it in my kitchen window. And then promptly forgot about it until I saw a scary shadow behind my new curtains. And this is what I found when I pulled back the curtain. I was, needless to say, very depressed about it. We tried to nurse it as much as possible, but…how much can you nurse a corpse? So I just sat it on the counter as a reminder to myself and the world that I should not be a plant owner. And then today I found this:
YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!! Someone’s got a friend in Jesus. “Lazarus, come on out!”

That’s awesome! If you prune the old growth down to just above the new stuff (see where there are new leaves coming out of the nodes on the side?) then it will help them grow. Basically, as long as the old plant parts are there, the plant is putting energy to both. But if you cut off the old, all of the plant’s energy will go to growing those new little bits. Good luck!
THANKS!!
