This is it. The last post showing off the anniversary party decorations/ideas. The first posts are here and here. If you haven’t checked them out yet, you’re going to want to (I say tooting my own horn AGAIN).
I don’t know what it is, but I’m a total sucker for party favors. I know that a lot of time party favors totally stink. I don’t want a pack of matches that says “A Perfect Match!” on them. Well, that’s a bad example because I could use matches. Let’s just leave it at there are a lot of hokey party favors out there. So when I was brainstorming about what favors to give out, I came up with this - a CD. But not a “normal” CD. I wanted to make it with a 50’s vibe. Right?! Well did you know that they sell CDs that look like vinyl records? They do. And on top of that idea, I have a few friends who are “part-time DJs.” I have no idea what that really means. I think they’re just audiophiles that like to make CD versions of mix tapes. And they’re good at it. So I asked a friend, who is particularly good at lounge/bossa nova mixes, to pull one together for me. Of course, with that awesome sampling of music, I wanted to make an equally awesome way to showcase it. This is what I came up with.
The “record” label (notice “Hip Records” - HA):

And the sleeve.
It might seem strange that it’s called “Midnite Vibe,” but I wanted to pay proper homage to this guy:
The Sir Mix-A-Lot of this compilation - Midnite. Not DJ Midnite. Not MidniGHt. Just Midnite. I mean, what’s the first thing that comes to mind when you see this guy? Midnite, right?! Right! Wink… It’s an awesome mix and I’m super happy that he took the time to pull it all together. You’re the best, Midnite!!
But the biggest hit of the evening was…
Awwwww yeahhhh. A REAL photo booth!!!!! No more monkeying around with my Mac trying to recreate a photo booth-like feel. That’s dead to me. When I mentioned renting a real one to Carl, we giggled like two little girls and were like “YESSSSSS!!!” Obviously, it was lots of fun. Who doesn’t like a photo booth? No one, that’s who. And on top of it, the company we used was UH-MAZE-ING. I seriously cannot say enough how awesome they were. And check this out. They can put your logo at the bottom of the photo booth strips:
Ummmm…awesome! On top of it, they were great about encouraging the guests to write in the photo guest book. I mean, amazing. And they let me put up those vinyl graphics (the one that says “Photos” - thanks Silhouette!) on the outside of the booth. Honestly, they were just really nice and helpful generally. So if you’re in the Palm Springs/San Diego (I think they said they’d go to San Diego) area, call Classic Photo Booths and ask for Jake. He’s the best!
So that’s about it! After this party was (sadly) over, I decided something. I’m totally starting a party planning business!! That being said, feel free to contact me if you have any party-planning needs. I know that if I’m going to start a business I have to do a little more than drop a plug at the end of a post, but I figured this would be the best place to “announce” it. I should probably make it a special post for it, though, huh. As soon as I get a more solidified plan, I will. Mark my words…

I’m speechless!!!!! You must do this professionally.
Wouldn’t that be awesome?!
BEST. PARTY. EVER.
I want to see more!! Which reminds me, why does everyone hate us and not want to share their pictures? I’ve checked Dropbox every day and zilch. I know there are others out there, especially since I very vividly remember a million flashes going off at a particularly embarrassing moment…
BUT…I just got the photo booth picture CDs!!!! I’ll upload those.
