Weekend in the Desert

Unfortunately, I didn’t get to work on any projects at all this weekend. Boo. They are piling up (again) and making me feel sad in my heart. The reason is that I was out of town. We went to stay with some friends who were camping near the border of Mexico. See, they like to do things like ride dirt bikes and quads. I am afraid I will BECOME a quad if I attempt anything like that. But Ryan and I went along for heck of it. No, we didn’t ride at all (see earlier statement), but I took some pictures. The weather was…interesting to say the least.

We knew we were in for some “weather” when we saw this along the way - blowing sand in the distance. Yikes.

It was cloudy and chilly, which is something I never get to see when I’m in the desert. It’s always brain-frying hot and supernova sunny. No matter the temperature, though, it’s beautiful out there.

Waiting for our friends to get back from their ride, we played a little Words with Friends. He tries so hard to beat me…

Here are the crazy drivers. Beauties and the…not beauty. This is my “brother” in the background. As I always say, our resemblance is in the eyes.

Amirite, or amirite? It’s ridiculously beautiful on those dunes!! But…it was still VERY chilly and INSANELY windy.

And check this out - 25 miles west of the desert, it was 32 degrees and SNOWING!!!!! WOWSA!

Oh, and here’s a bonus for you:

Ralph the Fancy Pants! Very “proper.”

Ted the Unfancy Pants (with his Ugly Doll, Mrs. Kasoogi who, according to her bio, is very bossy). He’s totally plotting to eat more plants. Maybe Mrs. Kasoogi is to blame? Doubt it.
