Blimelight

Remember when I was talking about Kickstarter a while ago and said that I had pledged some dough to a couple of campaigns? Here. Geez. Do you guys remember anything I say? Anyway, I FINALLY got the first project “gift.” It’s a Blimelight. I was totally excited because it’s not only cool, but you get to assemble it yourself! I love assembling. Well, most of the time. Sometimes Ikea wants you to assemble things that should clearly be assembled by professionals. Or a machine.

ANYWAY, I thought I’d show you the process and then the finished product. I’ll be honest, I thought it would be a little more heavy-duty. It’s basically made out of the kind of cardboard you’d get at a department store if you had a shirt gift wrapped in a box. Can you picture it? Of course, I’m sure it said exactly what it was made of on the Kickstart project page, but you know me and my every-other-word reading process. Brilliant. It never bites me in the butt or anything. Blerg. But I never appear to learn from it. Yeah, I just went back to the Kickstart project page and it totally says cardstock (which I strangely described as the gift box cardboard thing). Dang it! I was hoping I wasn’t foiled again. By myself. Ugh. I should have just sprung for the wood veneer one which is what I really wanted. OMG (as my dad would say), I don’t know why I’m blathering on to you guys about this. I really just wanted to show you the pictures because it’s totally cool!

It’s really meant to be a lampshade, but I just hung it as a decoration in the bathroom. It replaced the string ball thingy since it got all Droopy Dog in the bathroom from the steam. We’ll see how this holds up. But it’s cool, right?!

Sometimes I wonder if people get my references, so linking is the best way to ensure that.
