That’s what I did this weekend. Well, first we painted, obviously.
To Ryan’s chagrin, I decided to paint the living/dining room this weekend. I JUST painted the bathroom a few months ago, but somehow I forgot how much I dislike painting. I forgot about all the moving of stuff around to get to the walls and dealing with dropcloths. I forgot about all the cans of paint and primer that have to be housed in the kitchen until the project was over. We decided on grey and yellow. Well, I pretty much let Ryan pick the final ones. I wanted grey for the long wall and he picked the accent color. Between you and me, I wanted green. It’s yellow. Oh well. At least there’s a fresh and clean coat of paint (I initially typed “pain” which is actually correct) on there. I also had visions of stenciling something super cool on the walls. I proposed hexagon stencils and was met with this:
He said they reminded him of science (?) or honeycombs. So I gave in. Even though it meant dying a little bit inside. Compromise…boo.
Here are so pix of the final product. It’s still a bit of a mess, so I could only snap a few.
The “foy-ay” (meaning the pad of tiles in front of the door):
The Mystery poster on the grey wall. Have I ever showed you guys the Mystery poster? My mom gave it to me years ago and I LOVE IT! Along with Masterpiece Mystery, obvs.
The FABULOUS Liquor poster on its yellow wall:
I’m still going to look around for stencils. Maybe I can wear him down…
Oh, and keep your eyes peeled. Tomorrow there’s a big announcement!! And, no, I’m not pregnant…

Congrats on the awesome paint job, and also on not being pregnant! (It would be quite a waste of your snazzy bar set up if you were…)
I love that deep grey color.
The whole pregnancy thing didn’t even occur to me until a friend of mine text me and asked if I was pregnant. The first thing that came to mind was “who have you been talking to and did they actually say I was that fat?!” What is wrong with me?
The grey is really pretty. It’s dark, but not TOO dark so as to look too mancave-ish.
