VIDEO Tutorial - Hip Embroidery

OK. I was going to wait until Tutorial Tuesday, but I can’t. I just can’t! My video tutorial is finally done! GAH! Before you run out and hit play, I want to say a few things:

1. It’s long. VERY long. But it shows you how to make something original from just some ideas in your head to a finished product. And everything in between. But…it’s very long.

2. I sincerely apologize for the overuse of the word “super.” I had to stop counting after a while. Do I talk like a 13-year-old girl? Apparently.

3. It’s irritating that you can’t actually see some of the things I point to. I thought I had the camera aimed low enough, but I didn’t. You’ll have to settle for a list. Super.

Blah, blah, blah, here it is in all its glory!

I PROMISE the next one will be shorter. And I’m going to really try to curb the supers. I swear.

OH, and because I love you all (and in case you’re as weird as I am in your choice of home decorations), here’s the “pattern” for my finished product. It’s flipped and everything! YOU’RE WELCOME!!

I’m already busy with ideas for the next one!

Update - the embroidery stitch I “teach” you is not a chain stitch. It’s a split stitch. I told you I wasn’t a “fancy embroiderer!”

Oh my god, you purposely made the video long so you could have a grand reveal at the end, just like the two-VHS movie Casino! Does Colbert himself know about your embroidery design? Cause I bet he would totally keep a pillow with that on his own couch.

Now that you have shown me the way, I am going to try this type of embroidery soon. I have all sorts of hilarious and non-hilarious embroidery ideas in my head now. Biggie Smalls teapot cozy, here I come!

I know, right?! It was crazy (or super) long. I was thinking about showing the project at the beginning, but then I realized that I HAD to save it until the end. I should have hinted that there was a big surprise at the end. Or a plot twist. Or something.

OMG. YES!!! Yes to it all!!!!

Oh, and I’m going to get a good picture of the framed Colbert homage and e-mail it to “him.” Maybe he’ll give me a shout-out. That’s just slightly further down on my list from me meeting him and him realizing that we’d be best friends. Just slightly…
