Etsy Finds - Milk Glass

I have a serious thing for milk glass. Before I was married, I bought a few “pieces” (don’t say “of crap” - it’s rude) from eBay. They’re so ding dang pretty! Ryan’s eyes would roll up to the heavens if I trotted home with something now. But those blue ones…GAH!

OH, but as a side note, one thing I do not at all like about Etsy is the scammers. Calling a spray-painted Dollar Store (I know because I’ve purchased them) vase ”upcycled milk glass” is an insult. To me. And milk. And glass. And spray paint. And the Dollar Store. The Dollar Store isn’t ashamed of its prices. Obviously. They’ve put it in their name. It’s not trying to masquerade as vintage. They just let it all hang out. Oh scammers…don’t drag The Dollar Store into your lies.

‘Mmmm…milk glass. ‘

Thank you for posting this. It’s a reminder for me. I had a milk glass bowl of my Grandma’s. I mean, this bowl was 50 years old if it was a day, and I LOOOOOOOVED it so much. But in all of the moving, it developed a massive crack. I still used it, for like, popcorn & stuff, until one day, sort of recently, it just snapped in half.
    Oh the devastation!!

I’m now on a mission to find another bowl just like it. Or close enough to it that I could fool myself into believing that it had once belonged to my Grandma Rose.

Oh man. That totally blows. Especially since it was your grandma’s. That’s the worst. But I agree, buy something new. You know me, I’m always encouraging people to stimulate the economy. I’m a giver.
