#Unplug

How was everyone’s weekend? Mine was blah, blah, blah, who cares. That’s not what I’m writing about today. I’m writing about what I DIDN’T do this weekend. Well, Sunday.

I decided to have a #ConsciousUncoupling with the internet/social media. Arianna Huffington has been on two separate late night shows and she was droning on and on about how we’re all so addicted to our smart phones. And that it’s unhealthy. So I decided to try it this weekend. True to form, I forgot all about it until Sunday morning. But I was resolute - no checking e-mail, Facebook, Instagram, blog stats, not even Candy Crush (I’m almost on level 400, guys). I left my phone on in case anyone needed to call or text, but that was it. No internet at all.

Ryan would ask me at intervals how I was doing. I acted like I didn’t know what he was talking about, but I was truly ITCHING to see if a funny cat picture had been posted somewhere. #ANYWHERE. I had to settle for funny pictures of my own cats.

Ralph Unicorn

The magical and majestic caticorn. Or Ralphicorn. I don’t know…

Anyway, I won’t lie, I only lasted until 8pm. But I think I’m going to try to do it every weekend. I sit at a computer all day for work. Why do I feel the need to be connected to the internet on my down time? #AndIStillHaveTV #Blessed
