The art party went off without a hitch! I had a very small part in the planning as the VAST majority was done by the hosts who were pretty amazing. For example, the party started at 5:30 and they had that place set up and ready to GO by noon. Impressive.
ANYWAY, I’ve compiled a few pictures so that you can see the other art projects. I have to admit that I only got a few pictures of the projects that were displayed first. After that, I was busy getting the photo booth set up and then I had a drink in my hand and then it was…game over. SO, here’s a sampling:
My favorite aspect of this picture is the following title card:
AAAHAHAHAHA! Love it. I’ve ALWAYS wanted to try a paint-by-number. Now I’m going in fully prepared for the fact that it will not be easy. I appreciate the reality check.
Isn’t this cool? I love it! It was done by my sister-in-law, Capri, who would like everyone to know that she only ate one chicken tender all day before she came to the party. She knows what I’m talking about. Tee hee.
I wish I could have captured a better picture of this. It’s an old guitar that was disassembled and then re-assembled with some of the sections missing. I love that the “artist” (I probably shouldn’t put that in quotes because this is pretty dang artistic) actually had inspiration as well. He said that when he saw Florence + the Machine a few months ago, Florence was wearing a dress similar to this and he immediately envisioned the project. I wish I was an inspired artist. Irritating…
Video games throughout the years. SUPER cool. I couldn’t get a detailed photo of the entire board, but this is all but a couple of them. It pretty much included every video controller ever made. OK, I have no idea if that’s true as I haven’t played that many video games in my lifetime. But he said that almost all of them are the actual controllers he used as a kid through today.
Edible art? How about just edible. The party food included s’mores, so Ryan made this man out of marshmallows. That way, you could just pluck a marshmallow off the man and ram it on your skewer. It’s creepy, isn’t it? Look at the fingers…yikes. Nightmare worthy. But a job well done!
There was also something that I could only classify as “performance art.”
This “beatnik” made his own vodka (like, from scratch) and then handed them out himself. Both delicious and hilarious.
But my favorite piece of “performance art” is this:
I don’t know if I can call this performance art as it just the way he is. Let me start by saying that this is my brother-in-law and he is hilarious. Let me continue by saying that, yes, this is his natural hair that he is able to pick out into an afro. And he is white. Also, notice the dollar bill rings he made for himself. You guys, I couldn’t have dreamed this up if I wanted to.
All in all, it was a fabulous time!
I’ll do a separate post with all the party decorations I made. I think they turned out pretty dang well. You’ll have to judge for yourselves, though…

It was SO MUCH FUN! The pictures don’t even do it justice.
