Tutorial Tuesday!

I really struggled for a name this time because all this stuff does go into your house, but housewares sounded so general. So…nothing it is, I guess.

ANYWAY, I’ve found a few tutorials over the past week that I’ve been DYING to share with you guys. All of which, I’d like to make. They would all be fabulous in my office (maybe I should have titled it “Lizzie’s Office Decor Desires. Sadly, that would be too broad as well).

Bentwood pendantBentwood Pendant. This is a knock-off of a West Elm pendant, but…theirs costs $189 and hers costs $40. AND it’s made out of quilting hoops! And yes, I know that my office does not need a pendant light, BUT I could just hang it in the corner without the light part. Right?! Right. The answer is right.

Geometric lampGeometric lamp. Another knock-off, folks! This is originally a Robert Abbey Delta lamp (I have no idea who that is, but we’ll just glaze past that part). I think I can safely say that I’m pretty much obsessed with this lamp. I mean, geometric AND turquoise! And since half of the offices here have those stupid banker’s lamps in them, I think I could put this on my desk and not feel the slightest bit weird. Maybe I would just turn off all the overhead lights and keep the lamp on. And maybe a pendant lamp I think I previously mentioned? I don’t know.

Candle holder cuffsCandle holder cuffs. I love these. And you could really put them around anything - a vase, something you want to fancy up (like a banker’s lamp - j/k), whatever. My favorite part of this tutorial is the part where they tell you NOT to put it around a candle without a holder. And then they’re just like “you know what, maybe a flameless candle would be the best choice for you.” Disclaimers…you gotta dumb them down for people. “WARNING - do not try to decoratively cover your gas burners. Paper is combustible.” That reminds me - I just got a new iron and the warning label literally said not to touch the hot part of the iron. Because it could burn you. Can babies read now? Because those are the only people who should be reminded of that.

Be safe out there, kids!

I love all of these! And I guess I should feel stupid that I recently burned my inner thigh with the iron while ironing a sewing project on the floor. (I don’t iron clothes..only crafts!). It was about a month ago & I still have a mark… ugh :(
