No, that is not a typo. Although, writing about tube tops would be an interesting topic. “I’ve got a new tube top. I’d like to cut the tags off.”
One of my MANY (10 is many, right) readers, Mara Fields, contacted me about her new Kickstarter project for Tube Tats. “OMG. WHAT ARE TUBE TATS???!” you are probably screaming right now. I assume. They are vinyl decals for your bike (or really whatever you want to put them on)! Like this:
And if you watch the video, you can see them in action. GAH! Right? The best part is that they are both waterproof AND removable. So, in a year when you decide you’re more of a woodland creature person than a tape cassette person, you can remove them and put on different ones! I mean, COME ON! Great idea! And I don’t know if you know this, but…I have an ADORABLE beach cruiser bike. I used to ride it all the time. I would FLY on it and loved the feel of the wind in my hair (I’m telling you - I rode FAST) and then…I hit a little kid (it wasn’t my fault and it’s a long story which I might tell you some day, but it was so traumatizing that I might not), so I’m a little scared to get back in the saddle. But maybe this will be the catalyst I need. The chance to make my bike the talk of the town because of its cuteness factor! I mean, the people want, nay NEED, to see it. That’s the angle I’m going for when I pitch this to Ryan. I need CUSTOM graphics because…I’M TRAUMATIZED!!! DON’T YOU LOVE ME?! The cut-off date is August 14th, so I’ve got almost a full month to work my magic.
Side note - I’ve gotta start a Kickstarter project. Like “Help Lizzie quit her job so that she can make people laugh full-time instead of shuffling paper around in a constant depressive state.” Maybe that’s too long of a title. Regardless, the goal would be $1M. Maybe if I can get Zach Braff to make an appearance? Or Veronica Mars?
