Cocktail Hour - The Horse’s Neck

Horse Neck Glass

When someone suggested this drink to me, the name totally turned me off. Ummm…gross? But, rest assured, it is delicious. And just imagine it’s in a highball glass and not a lowball glass (shoot - that might be considered a wine glass - ay yi yi). Pretend time.

Horse NeckThe ingredients:

1.5 oz brandy
3 oz. ginger ale
1 dash bitters (we actually skipped this and just squeezed a little lemon juice in there - there were a lot of lemons on hand)
lemon spiral

Funny story about the lemon spiral - Ryan decided that I should use a cheese slicer because he was afraid I’d cut my hand with a real knife. Apparently, at some point in our marriage, I became a special needs child. So after I got a little mouthy about it, he demonstrated how much easier it was to use the cheese slicer and…CUT HIS FINGER! AAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAA! Idiot! Needless to say, I switched to the knife. And lo and behold, I didn’t cut myself! [Eye roll].

Oh, and Ryan told me that the lemon spiral is how it got its name. Because it looks like a horse’s neck. Ummmm…guys….does it? I think you need to get your eyes checked. Or, like me, maybe make sure you don’t have both contacts in the same eye (that literally happened to me this morning).

We’ve got another on the books for tonight! Is it 5 yet? Is it 5 yet? Is it 5 yet?
