Like most women (I assume), I am on a perpetual diet. That means that most of the time, I stare at desserts longingly. “I am stronger than the cake…I am stronger than the cake” is usually my mantra. But because I refuse to suffer alone, I’m gifting you some delicious dessert recipes that I keep coming across. I’ve never made any of them, of course, but they definitely LOOK delicious. And they’d be perfect for any party.
Purple ombre sprinkles cake. Right?! I am a little obsessed with ombre as it is (which probably means it’s already out of style) and this cake is amazing! I’m sure I could never make it, but…someone out there could make it for me!!!! I’m just sayin’.
Espresso-chocolate shortbread cookies. Hells bells! I LOVE shortbread! I think it’s because it reminds me of when I’d go to my grandma’s house. She always had little packages of Lorna Doones that she got from Meals on Wheels. I’m 100% serious. And then there’s the Girl Scout cookie variety – Trefoils. Mmmm. They are just plain delish.
State fair cream puffs (with bourbon). Did somebody say bourbon?! I stopped reading the recipe after I read that tidbit. Must. Have. Now.
Mexican wedding cakes. These are a shout-out to my grandma. Not the Meals on Wheels grandma, but the other grandma. My Mexican grandma. I love telling people that I’m one-quarter Mexican because it blows their minds. They always assume I’m Irish which I’m not at all. ANYWAY, these are the best! I love their powdery goodness!!
So there you have it. Lots of delicious, yet very bad for you, recipe ideas. I’m not telling you to run out and eat them. That’s on you. But, please don’t tell my fitness guru sister, Sally. She’d be very disappointed in me. Oh, and to answer your questions – yes and yes. She is really my sister and we have BOTH parents in common. People always ask me that. I don’t know why. Wink…
